Parkview School District will host an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Parkview Junior High/High School from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26. The new Parkview Jr. /Sr. High will be open for students, parents and community members to view the building. There will still be some final work and unpacking being done but this will be the first public opportunity to view the building. Please stop by to see the wonderful new school.
A ribbon cutting ceremony at Parkview Elementary will be scheduled at a later date.
On Jun 4, 5, 6 the Parkview community came together and successfully emptied Parkview Jr./Sr. High School and Parkview Elementary School to allow the construction project to continue on schedule. Over 100 members of the Parkview family chipped in with an awesome show of support! Thank you to all that helped in any way!
A special thanks goes out to several community members that provided resources and equipment to help make the move a big success! Thank you to A & H Trucking for allowing the District free use of a semi trailer to store some furniture! Thank you to Blain’s Farm & Fleet and Clay Hammes for free use of a Blain’s Farm & Fleet trailer to store furniture! Thank you to Jim Ponkauskus for the free use of his pick up truck and trailer! Last but not least, thank you to Steve Haberman for the free use of his semi tractor to shuttle the trailers, his skid steer to load and unload trailers and for storing one of the semi trailers on his property for the summer!
Without the help of each and every volunteer, this project could not have succeeded! Thank you to all helpers! You help make Parkview great!
Parkview Junior high was recently the recipient of a grant to purchase a new wrestling mat for the Junior High wrestling team from the JJ Watt Foundation. As posted on the foundation page: “Back to the Mat again – this time for Parkview School District in Orfordville, WI. We’re excited to provide $11,148 for the junior high school’s new wrestling mats. Go Vikings!”
Parkview district superintendent Steve Lutzke applied for the grant. Lutzke said, "The need for a mat exists since the junior high wrestling program will be in the elementary school gym and the varsity mat will be at the new high school. The generosity of JJ Watt and his foundation will allow the Parkview wrestling program to continue to grow. Parkview is very grateful to JJ Watt. His support of kids and athletics serves as a great role model for our youth. We have submitted the order for the wrestling mat and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new wrestling mat!”
“DREAM BIG, WORK HARD” is the motto of the JJ Watt foundation. According to their website:
“Our mission is to provide after-school opportunities for middle-school aged children in the community to become involved in athletics, so that they may learn the character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic, and perseverance, while in a safe and supervised environment with their peers.”
The foundation is a 501C (3) foundation dedicated to helping youth. You may read more about the foundation at http://jjwfoundation.org/
The Parkview School District is extremely grateful to the JJ Watt foundation for its generosity and support of youth.
For the 2015-2016 school year, the Parkview School District will be transitioning to online registration in order to streamline the process of registration for both families and the district. Beginning on August 1, 2015, families will be able to register their students for the upcoming school year from the comfort of their own home simply by following the necessary steps online through their Family Access (Skyward) account. Most of the forms required for registration will be loaded into Family Access (Skyward) and families will be able to update information on their students through their account where it can then be reviewed and approved by the student registrar. A tutorial will be available to families before registration begins that will walk through the necessary steps of completing registration online.
In addition to the registration process being updated, the payment system will also see new features added in 2015-2016. The current online payment system used for food service accounts will be expanded to all school fees allowing families to pay registration fees online without having to write a check. In order to encourage families to register their students in a timely manner, the usual online payment fee of $2.00 per transaction through RevTrak will be waived during the registration enrollment period, which will be from August 1st through August 20th.
On-site registration will still be an option for families who would like to register in person. For families who register on-site, they will register using computers provided by the district and will follow the exact same steps as families who register online at home or at another off-site location. During on-site registration, technical assistance will be available for families to help them through the process of registering through Family Access (Skyward). On-site registration will be held at the new Jr./Sr. High School on August 12th from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on August 13th from 8:00 a.m. to noon.
More details on the move to online registration will be sent to families during the summer. If you have any questions regarding online registration, please contact either myself at 608-879-2717 ext. 6114 or Sue Draves at 608-879-2717 ext. 6191. If you currently do not have a Family Access (Skyward) account, please contact Stacy Neal at 608-879-2717 ext. 5119. If you have forgotten your password for Family Access (Skyward) or need help with your account, please contact Ann Buehl at 608-879-2717 ext. 5127.
