The Parkview School District has seen the number of students attending the District increase since the start of the school year. Each year, every school district in the state of Wisconsin must conduct a pupil count in September and January. From the pupil count that was completed in September to the most recent count that was held this month, the enrollment at Parkview has increased by 12 students. The total number of students attending Parkview is now 782. New families that have come to Parkview have mentioned that the new facilities and the academic awards the District has received have been major factors in their decision to attend Parkview.
In addition to enrollment increasing, the Parkview School District saw improvement in their open enrollment numbers as well. While the number of students open enrolling into the District decreased by three, the number of students open enrolling out of the District decreased by eleven resulting in a positive gain for the District of eight students since September. For each student that open enrolls in or out of the District, Parkview either receives or must pay another district $6,639 in 2015-2016. Parkview experienced a similar type of improvement to open enrollment between September to January last year when the District experienced a positive gain of seven students.
The improvement in enrollment and open enrollment at Parkview will have a positive impact on the financial outlook in the District for this year and beyond. The District hopes to build on these gains as more and more families realize how attending Parkview can benefit their children and the community as a whole.
On November 4, 2015 the Parkview High School Student Council organized and filmed a "lip dub" to represent the school. The lip dub is a great way to show off our beautiful new building, and highlight all of the sports, clubs, and organizations that students are a part of throughout the junior high and high school. It also unified the whole school and showed off how much great spirit Parkview Vikings have!

ACT released the ACT scores for the Class of 2015 and the Parkview graduates scored well. The composite score for the Parkview Class of 2015 was 22.1. This score matched the State average for WI and was the highest score for a Parkview graduating class dating back prior to 2006.
Wisconsin as a state had the second highest average ACT score in the country so the fact that Parkview matched the State average reflects positive results by students and their teachers.
Over the past several years the Parkview teachers and administration have used the ACT test results to determine where more intensive instruction is needed and coursework has been revised to address these areas. The school district also provides a low cost ACT prep class, taught by Mr. Schullo and former Parkview teacher- Nancy Nettesheim, to students that want to increase their knowledge prior to taking the test. Many of our students have completed the prep class and found it to be beneficial.
Parkview Junior high was recently the recipient of a grant to purchase a new wrestling mat for the Junior High wrestling team from the JJ Watt Foundation. As posted on the foundation page: “Back to the Mat again – this time for Parkview School District in Orfordville, WI. We’re excited to provide $11,148 for the junior high school’s new wrestling mats. Go Vikings!”
Parkview district superintendent Steve Lutzke applied for the grant. Lutzke said, "The need for a mat exists since the junior high wrestling program will be in the elementary school gym and the varsity mat will be at the new high school. The generosity of JJ Watt and his foundation will allow the Parkview wrestling program to continue to grow. Parkview is very grateful to JJ Watt. His support of kids and athletics serves as a great role model for our youth. We have submitted the order for the wrestling mat and are anxiously awaiting the arrival of the new wrestling mat!”
“DREAM BIG, WORK HARD” is the motto of the JJ Watt foundation. According to their website:
“Our mission is to provide after-school opportunities for middle-school aged children in the community to become involved in athletics, so that they may learn the character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic, and perseverance, while in a safe and supervised environment with their peers.”
The foundation is a 501C (3) foundation dedicated to helping youth. You may read more about the foundation at http://jjwfoundation.org/
The Parkview School District is extremely grateful to the JJ Watt foundation for its generosity and support of youth.
