PBIS Videos
Behaviors will be taught just like academic skills are taught. Our focus is to build a positive environment in our schools and classrooms. The District has chosen three core behavior expectations that can be applied in all school settings. They are:
1. Be Respectful
2. Be Responsible
3. Be Safe
We model the behaviors using videos and practice the behavior. By teaching these core behavior expectations, the District wants to equip all students with the knowledge necessary to achieve their unique potential.
Teach/Pre-Correct Behaviors
- Use of behavior lessons called "Cool Tools" which are videos (See below)
- Provide in the moment reminders
Model/Practice
- Adults model what they teach
- Students practice what we teach
Acknowledge
- Daily recognition on the clip chart (Outstanding Tickets)
- Intermittent-unexpected (Staff observes students showing expected behavior)
- Celebrations
Re-teach
- Restate the expectations using a different strategy
