Schools Closed through April 3 - CLICK HERE for a message from Superintendent Lutzke
Dear Parkview School District families,
Today at 4:30 Governor Evers ordered all K-12 WI schools closed in relation to the COVID-19 situation. I would like to share information with you related to this announcement. First, we are all aware of the level of national concern related to COVID-19. For the sake of our students, I urge everyone to only share factual information and try not to speculate. Our students need to see all adults providing a safe and caring environment in a time of uncertainty. We are all in this together.
Parkview has decided to close beginning Monday, March 16, 2020 and will remain closed pending guidance from our local, state, and federal health officials. Current guidance states the earliest return date would be April 6, 2020. April 6 is supposed to be the start of spring break and it is highly likely that spring break will be moved to the week of March 30-April 3. Beginning Monday, March 16 all school activities and events on our campuses (including spring sports) are suspended until further notice.
Parkview staff will be working next week to develop a contingency plan in an attempt for instruction to continue. You can anticipate more communication of these plans later next week.
Parkview strongly recommends that all families comply with the Center for Disease Control guidance and avoid non-essential travel outside of our immediate geographic region. Most major airlines have initiated policies that allow for free changes or temporary suspension of flights. The Wisconsin State Department of Health Services recommends that people who travel to places where there is community spread of COVID-19 (which is basically the entire US and abroad) self-quarantine and monitor for symptoms for 14 days upon return.
We are sensitive to other needs that families may have and we will do our best to support our community during this challenging time
