Welcome Back Letter from the Elementary Principal
Dear Parkview Families,
As we begin a new school year, I want to extend a warm welcome to all of our Parkview Elementary families. Whether you are returning to our school or joining us for the first time, we are excited to have you as part of our school community. I look forward to partnering with you as we embark on another year of learning, growth, and success.
My name is Tim Strandlie, and I am honored to serve as the new Principal of Parkview Elementary School. Since joining the district, I have already learned so many wonderful things about our students, families, staff, and community. I am excited to begin this journey alongside
all of you. I firmly believe that it takes a village to raise a child. Building strong, trusting relationships with students, families, and educators has always been at the heart of my work. I strive to lead with a positive attitude, open communication, and a commitment to ensuring every child feels valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential.
Before joining Parkview, I served as an Associate Principal at a middle school and taught 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades. I earned my bachelor's degree from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, my teaching certification from Concordia University, and earned my master's degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis from the University of Wisconsin.
At Parkview, we remain committed to providing a strong academic foundation in a safe, supportive, and caring environment where every student is known, valued, and encouraged to grow. Our dedicated staff works to create classrooms where students feel confident taking risks, trying new things, and developing a lifelong love of learning.
This year, we continue our focused work in early literacy through the implementation of Wisconsin Act 20. Our teachers have embraced evidence-based literacy practices and a comprehensive system of supports to ensure every student receives the instruction and interventions they need to become successful readers. We are committed to helping every child thrive.
Parkview Elementary students excel in mathematics as well. Parkview students recently exceeded the state average in math performance on the Wisconsin State Report Card, reflecting the strength of our Bridges Math curriculum and the dedication and expertise of our exceptional teaching staff.
Providing a well-rounded educational experience is another priority at Parkview. We are excited to continue our partnership with the Einstein Project, giving students engaging, hands-on science experiences through the MySci curriculum.
While academic achievement is important, we also know that students learn best when they feel safe, respected, and connected. Our staff is deeply committed to Social Emotional Learning (SEL), helping students build the confidence, resilience, and interpersonal skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. The relationships we build with our students are the foundation of everything we do.
I am incredibly proud to join the Parkview community and look forward to getting to know each of our students and families throughout the year. Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and support. Together, we will make this a joyful, successful, and memorable year of learning for every child.
I look forward to seeing you soon!
Warmly,
Tim Strandlie
Principal
