Parkview School Board Announces Next Superintendent

Dr. Shawn Galvin has been named superintendent, effective July 1, 2025. Dr. Galvin has previously been the principal of Lincoln Elementary School for the past fourteen (14) years. Prior to becoming the principal of Lincoln Elementary School, Dr. Galvin served as the assistant principal at Lewis Lemon Elementary School in Rockford, Illinois and as a third and fourth grade teacher at Haskell Elementary School in Rockford, Illinois. Dr. Galvin received his Ed.D from Edgewood College and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Rockford College.

When asked about what he loves about Parkview, Dr. Galvin stated, "While I am starting to get to know the Parkview School District, one thing has been very evident; Parkview Pride. Regardless if they attended school here or have family that did or worked at PSD, people share very proudly their connection to the district and speak with great respect for PSD."

Superintendent Search 2024-25 School Year

In early September, the Board of Education contacted several superintendent search firms and asked them to send proposals for the Board to review.

The Board received proposals from the following firms:

The Wisconsin School Board Associations
Ray & Associates
Hazard, Young and Attea (HYA)

After reviewing each of the proposals, the Board decided to interview the firms of Ray & Associates and HYA. These interviews were held on Tuesday, September 10. After the interviews, the Board discussed the pros and cons of each firm.

On Monday, September 16, the Board of Education decided to enter into negotiations with HYA to help them find your next superintendent.

Parkview Superintendent Search Day in the District Parkview School District - January 16, 2025

On January 16, 2025, finalists Tracy Case and Shawn Galvin will spend a full day in the Parkview School District. Their visit will include building tours and meetings with high school students, administrators, Interim Superintendent Wayne Anderson, employees, community members, and parents.

This report presents the findings of the Leadership Profile Assessment conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates HYA during the month of October 2024 for the new superintendent of the Parkview School District. The data contained herein was obtained from input the HYA consultant received when he met with individuals and groups in either interviews or focus group settings. Additional feedback was also gathered from emails received from stakeholders. The interviews and focus group meetings were structured to gather input to assist the Board in determining the primary characteristics desired in the new superintendent. Additionally, the stakeholder interviews and focus groups collected information regarding the strengths of the organization and some of the challenges that it will be facing in the coming years. It should be emphasized that the data is not a scientific sampling, nor does it necessarily represent the majority opinion of each respective group.
